Andy left Boeing to open this gas station in Burien in 1962 , we started out as an American Oil station (Standard of Indiana) and when American Oil decided to pull out of the Northwest we "bet the farm" and decided to purchase the station in 1973. The timing was terrible because of the Arab oil embargo that soon followed. Somehow we were able to survive and we branded with Maxwell Oil, Hank Maxwell believed in us and allowed us to survive through the shortages in supply. We rebranded as Fina after the Maxwell years and that lasted until we acquired the Arco brand. We grew with Arco for 20+ years but when they were acquired by BP , the relationship changed. In December of 2007 Arco removed their brand with less than 24 hours notice to us. We scrambled and remodeled and re-imaged as an independent operator under the "Andys" banner, relying on the loyalty of the customer base we built  over the previous 46 years serving our community and neighbors. Now in 2015 we are in our 53rd year serving Burien.
